From the Manager’s Desk: Dereck Hirson

How quickly time flies when you are busy with refurbishment, marketing of the Lodge, quiz evenings, dinners and other events…

Yes at the end of March I would have been here for 6 months already. It has been a very exciting 6 months with lots happening good & bad.

We will be finishing off with the refurbishment this month. I am looking forward to the next year as we start the new financial year although with the economy as it stands it is a tough market and we are marketing ourselves to get those bookings in.

We have now formed an alliance with Thula Thula Game Reserve whereby we will offer our visitors their facilities of game drives and they in turn will send us golfers
from their lodge.
School holidays have now begun and we will have an
influx of homewoners, visitors, hotel guests joining us
over the Easter period and welcome to all those joining
us.

It is also exciting news that we will be hosting the SAA
Pro Am tournament from 28 April to 2 May and that
certainly is going to be a very busy and exciting week.

I was in Gauteng during the month on business and
I must admit I did look forward to coming back to
Prince’s Grant after battling in the traffic, all the road works that are taking place, and as a result, sitting in traffic jams dealing with taxi drivers. I am getting used to sitting here not worrying about the traffic, able to walk to work and best of all enjoy the beautiful sunsets & sunrises.

Employee of the Month

This month, Neelan has been given the title. He is a truly remarkable waiter and has proved his capabilities in his position. Well done to you Neelan. Keep up the good work!!!

When doing flowers in oasis, pour a teaspoon of sugar into the water before sticking in the flowers. This will keep the flowers more vibrant for longer.
